For your information, this is the plan for development of roads in the north-east. Added to the opening of John Paul II highway connecting Santo Domingo to Samaná, Atlantic Tourist Boulevard is a road circling passing through El Catey, southern Peninsula by Sanchez to return to the north of the peninsula from El Limón and regain Las Terrenas and El Catey.

The Road Network Nagua - Samaná of both components form the basic complement of new and unique way South - North of the Dominican Republic called Autopista Santo Domingo - Cruce Rincon de los Molinillos (Samaná).
This new route (S. Domingo - Cruce Rincon de los Molinillos) ends on the road between the cities Nagua - Sanchez - Samaná. A 14 Km east of the town of Nagua.
Nowadays the road network (Nagua - Samaná) is under the conditions that requires to be operated, so that new users that use this route, maintain a level of comfort equal to that level they will have to use the installment Santo Domingo – Cruce Rincon de los Molinillos.

  • Total Length: 123 km (two-lane).
  • Rehabilitation: 99 Km
  • The New Way: 24 km

The project is divided into two tranches: Nagua - Sanchez (34.50 Km), Sanchez - Samaná (29.50Km), Samaná - Las Terrenas (35.00 Km) and Las Terrenas - El Catey (24.00 km)

  • A toll station (at Km 18 east of Nagua).
  • The road has 2 bridges and 3 steps new vehicle, existing bridges.

Interest in the Project

All Samaná Peninsula road infrastructure will be required to complete the development of the new International Tourist Pole.
The new El Catey International Airport will have an avenue of intercommunication with all hotel areas in the Samaná Peninsula in conditions of transitivity and tourists go further on a road with police surveillance of permanent roads.
The travel time between Santo Domingo and Las Terrenas will be one hour and forty five minutes (1H, 45 minutes) instead of 5 hours now have to be used.

Which will result in an increase in tourism development throughout this area as well as an increase in agro-industrial development of the nation’s midsection, as is the region of Monte Plata, because you can access both the north and to the capital city.

New tourist region of the Dominican Republic

For 2015 are projected 15.000 rooms. Construction Completion El Catey International Airport (2006). Investment of approximately U.S. $ 500 MM in hotels and high-end sports clubs.
The project influence area encompasses other tourist areas like Nagua, Las Terrenas, Samaná, Cabrera and Rio San Juan on the northeastern coast.

MCV Code-137, Highway Honduras - El Limón - Samaná of over 20 km, the engineer hired by Cristian Tavarez GAVINO amounting to RD $ 537,077.10.

MCV-138 Code, Limón Road - Las Terrenas of a 2.55 km long, the engineer hired by Cristian Tavarez GAVINO of the amount of RD $ 328,257.25.

MCV Code-139, Carretera Las Terrenas - The Bridges of a length of 7 km, the engineer hired by Cristian Tavarez GAVINO amounting to RD $ 183,091.69.

Code AF-018-04, National Plan of asphalt from the Northeast, Samaná, Campos Construction, CxA and / or Mr. Jony Antonio Batista CUEVAS amounting to RD $ 100,000,000.00.

Code CA-017-06, reconstruction of roads and streets of Las Terrenas, OSEAL Sanchez, Mella-Police-Hospital, contracted by Javier Atilano Ing.Manuel ABREU and / or Const.Javier ABREU amounting to 18,472,838,63RD $.

Code CV-008-04, construction of roads and the Pascuala - El Coyote, and Agua Sabrosa - Las Canas, a 3.4 km long, contracted by Acosta Tineo SAand / or Mr. Julio Acosta Monte de Oca at a cost of RD $ 147,912,824.50.

HI-005 Code-05, Rehabilitation of the sinking of the street of Independence, Cleanliness and protection of the Cañada del Chorro Gri Gri and the Municipality of Sanchez a 1.5 km long, the engineer hired by Johnny A. PACHECO amounting to RD $ 15,341,266.78.

Code SR-006-05, Cleaning and repair of gabion wall in Samaná Rio Pueblo Viejo hired by the engineer Manuel A. Javier Reyes for a total of RD $ 911,155.43.

That is a total investment of RD $ 283,685,631.38.
