A major plan and a dream for the village of Las Terrenas

The meeting that took place on October 4th, 2008, was presided by Gary HURTADO, person in charge of the Samaná Cluster, and in the presence of the Samaná governor, Miguel BEZI, Elsa de LEÓN, in charge of Tourism, José Alexis MARTINEZ, mayor of Las Terrenas, the engineer Marcelo ALBURQUERQUE, architect in charge of the reorganization plan of Las Terrenas, the engineer José Oscar ORSINI BOSCH, president of the Alliance of the Business and Tourist Services of Samaná, Mariana VANDERHORST, lawyer, as well as the different persons in charge of the tourists and economical sectors of Las Terrenas.

In this occasion, the engineer and architect Marcelo ALBURQUERQUE presented the very awaited plan of reorganization and urbanization in view of the growing of Las Terrenas.

This plan in 53 pages, realized after a request of the Government, wants to introduce an urbanistic structure for the future development of the Samaná peninsula; it is to say Las Terrenas, Samaná and Las Galeras.

It’s the first urbanization plan in Dominican Republic which is going to beneficiate the peninsula.
