Las Terrenas is located in the Samaná peninsula approximately populated by 12 000 Dominican and 6000 foreign people.

1800 are French, 1200 are Italian, 700 are Swiss and Belgian, 500 are Canadian, 500 are German. There is also a few of English, Dutch and Spaniard.

Fishermen village at the origin, this village and all the Samaná peninsula is experiencing in the last few years a strong tourism development, increased by the presence of a new airport (El Catey –International Airport)
