Irene cyclone to pass near Las Terrenas
Residents of the north-east coast should take precautions
Irene, who until yesterday was a tropical storm, became on Monday the first hurricane of the Atlantic hurricane season by increasing its maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers / hour.
According to forecasts, the cyclone center will pass very near Las Terrenas, and affect mostly the northeast of the Dominican Republic.
This means that from this evening and overnight, the area could be affected by heavy showers, thunderstorms, winds with strong gusts and important waves.
