Residents of the north-east coast should take precautionsIrene, who until yesterday was a tropical storm, became on Monday the first hurricane of the Atlantic hurricane season by increasing its maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers / hour.
According to forecasts, the cyclone center will pass very near Las Terrenas, and affect mostly the northeast of the Dominican Republic.
