Because of the lack of studentsThe Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) will close its center located in the Samaná province, for the same economic reasons the one of San Pedro de Macoris was closed.
The rector Mateo Aquino Febrillet explained the Samaná UASD doesn’t have an appropriate amount of students, and it’s very costly to send teachers to Samaná.
Samaná students will be relocated from next semester to other centers, probably to the one in Nagua.
