Atlantic Boulevard at the gates of Las Terrenas

Atlantic BoulevardThe asphalting of the road began in Cosón

The Tourist Atlantic Boulevard (BTA), a major road project that will link the major cities of the Samaná peninsula is ready at 80%.

The government invested 160 million dollars in this project which will help the development of the peninsula by reducing the time to reach different locations (Samaná, Las Galeras, Las Terrenas, El Limon).

The road from El Catey to Las Terrenas is almost ready. The Ministry of Public Works teams are working on expanding the road of the last hill before entering the beach Cosón, while the asphalt has already begun in this area.

Access to the road El Catey-Las Terrenas is located near the entrance of Juan Bosch International Airport, the only one of the Samaná Peninsula.

This road, which will shorten even more the trip between Santo Domingo and Las Terrenas should have a significant economic impact as it will facilitate the transportation of tourists from the airport into town, but also the access for the capitaleños.

It will also provide an opportunity for Las Terrenas residents to go to Santo Domingo more often, to spend a weekend going to theater or visiting exhibitions, for example.

It’s time to create a real exchange between the two cities, by organizing for example a festival in Las Terrenas to attract the people from Santo Domingo, offering the best we have here !
