Luz y Fuerza deplores the rejection of wind farm expansion by CDEEE
However they say they will fight to produce clean energy
The president of the Luz y Fuerza Company of Las Terrenas, Jose Oscar Orsini Bosch, deplored the fact that the CDEEE rejected the expansion project of the Wind Farm Juan Bosch located in Las Guázumas, Samaná.
He added he will use all the available legal resources to develop this project since it has a high interest for the country.
In a communication to the executive vice president of the CDEEE, Celso Marranzini, Mr. Bosch indicated that they would not appeal the decision, given that the response coincides with the expiration date of the opportunity to access funds from the Department of Agriculture of the U.S. Government.
The delay in installing the wind farm in The Guazuma created by the opposition of the institutions under the CDEEE, won’t make us abandon this project

The letter contains the following points:

The level of 46 KV, was chosen following the technical recommendations of the Superintendency of Electricity and Energy Commission, as the original level was at 34.5 KV. These recommendations, as well as the fact of changing the original location of the line, were followed in order to try to overcome the opposition from Progreso del Limón – EDENORTE company.

The geographical path of the electric line never pass through an area were EDENORTE has the concession.

Concerning the environmental pollution, both wind park of Las Galeras and the Luz y Fuerza company have their corresponding environmental permits.

With regard to the suggestion to sell the energy produced by the wind farm Professor Juan Bosch to the National Interconnected Electric System, the company said that this park has been promoted and designed to enable offer cheaper and green tomore than 10,000 users. The investments made in this project must be safe and should not be exposed to the uncertain future of the interconnected system, which has cost the Dominican people more than U.S. $ 1.000 billion annually.
