54 627 million pesos were invested in works for drinking waterPresident Leonel Fernandez said Monday that from 2004 to date the government has invested 54 627 million pesos in works for drinking water and sanitation in the country.
It has significantly improved access to drinking water, now 76 of every 100 households have access to it
, said the president in a speech to the Congress.
The president said that the service coverage in the percentage of the Dominican population receiving drinking water at home, has gone from 69.5% in 2004 to 89.7% at the end of 2011.
