Sorlandet Sailboat came back to Las Terrenas
Under the coordination of the Mahatma Gandhi Foundation
The Afloat Class formed by 39 high school students and 7 teachers came back to Las Terrenas to carry out community development activities, learn about Dominican culture and enjoy the beautiful beaches.
The 46 crew members of the Sorlandet sailboat spent 3 nights and four days in Las Terrenas and they realized several activities under the coordination of the Foundation Mahatma Gandhi which is administrated by Annette Snyder and Joseph Bourget.
5 houses were painted in neighborhoods Come Pan, la Granja and El Pueblecito. The volunteers built a playground in La Barbacoa and repaired the Basic School Antonio Castillo Lora.
Each member of the crew was welcomed in domincian houses, with local families.
Mahatma Gandhi Foundation thanks Rosa and Moreno from the restaurant Las Palmas, Dary and Antonio from Mama’s and Erich Espinal from El Pescador, for the meals they provided to the visitors.
