National Council for Childhood and Adolescence

What is CONANI ?

CONANI is the National Council for Childhood and Adolescence, and it represents the administrative organization of the National System of Rights Protection for Childhood and Adolescence.

It is a decentralized institution of the Dominican State that has a legal weight and an own inheritance and that promotes protection actions for all the children, girls or boys, and for the teenagers too.

The decisions that are made concerning them are taken with clearness, responsibility and honesty.

In the structure of the CONANI, the National Office is the principal technical agency of the National Direction that represents the last decision authority.

Its mission is to guarantee the fundamental rights of the children, girls or boys, and of the teenagers as well as promoting their integral development in Dominican Republic, and directing the national system of child welfare too.

Its goal is to act on the regulation of the whole procedures and the decisions in favor of childhood and, at the same time it ensures and brings quality services to children and to teenagers.
The CONANI performed a long way since its origins to ensure the Rights of the Children and the Teenagers respect.

CONANI in Las Terrenas

The National Council for Childhood and Adolescence (CONANI), inaugurated on December 19, 2007 the Municipal Office of Las Terrenas, Samaná province.

This office’s purpose will be to support technically the Council’s subordinate bodies in order to coordinate the projects and programs in favor of the children, girls and boys, and of the teenagers who reside in this community.

The Mayor Mr. José Alexis Matínez thanked in the name of Las Terrenas community for this Office installation and the support that he always received from CONANI, by finishing with the declarations of Tilza Ares CONANI general manager.

She represented the Executive President, Mrs. Kirsys Fernández de Valenzuela, and she took the opportunity to incite all the present persons to commit themselves by working with the Coordinator of this Office, Melody Rodríguez, in order to guarantee the rights of the children and the teenagers of Las Terrenas.

The Las Terrenas Municipal Office is located in the Duarte Avenue, N·152, Plaza Deborah Center, Las Terrenas, D.N, and is legally attached to the North-East Regional office, San Francisco de Macorís.
